The CLIMPs project – Twinning for 2030 Climate Change Action Plan Model in Industrial Manufacturing Platforms – has reached a major milestone with the release of two essential deliverables under Work Package 1 (WP1). These foundational outputs set the stage for greener, more resilient industrial practices in Kocaeli (Türkiye) and Mazeikiai (Lithuania).
Who is behind the project? CLIMPs is implemented by a consortium of public and non-governmental partners:
Lead applicant: Kocaeli Department of Investment Monitoring and Coordination (Türkiye)
Co-applicants:
– Mažeikių rajono savivaldybė (Lithuania)
– Kocaeli Chamber of Industry (Türkiye)
– Baltic Education Technology Institute – BETI (Lithuania)
Project duration: 12 months
Programme: Funded under the Town Twinning between Türkiye and the EU – II (Twinning for a Green Future) grant scheme, EuropeAid/173144/ID/ACT/TR.
What’s the innovation?
The project introduces a digital breakthrough in climate action for industrial platforms – through mapping needs, sharing good practices, and co-developing a 2030 Climate Change Action Plan (CCAP) model tailored to industries. It strengthens international cooperation and supports the local adoption of the EU Green Deal.
Latest Outputs:
1. CLIMPs Survey Report
This comprehensive report maps the current needs, challenges, and opportunities for Industrial Manufacturing Platforms (IMPs) to adapt to climate change. It gathers input from industry, policy, and youth stakeholders, and highlights areas with the greatest potential for climate-driven transformation.
This publication showcases real-life examples of successful climate adaptation efforts by IMPs and local authorities. Designed to foster cross-border exchange, the booklet supports peer learning and encourages replicable solutions within the EU’s Green Deal framework.
These deliverables not only inform the upcoming Climate Change Action Plan (CCAP) Model for IMPs but also promote local ownership, international collaboration, and evidence-based policymaking.
